Registered Nurse - PRN - 014 Oncology
PRN RN position
The Registered Nurse will provide and coordinate all aspects of patient care in an outpatient Oncology center. Will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and reassess the physical, psychosocial, educational, environmental, and spiritual needs of patients receiving outpatient care, including the needs of their families and significant others. Maintains central venous catheters and implanted ports, provides patient education, begins and discontinues procedures, administers medications (chemotherapy infusions) and blood products, coordinates outpatient care functions. Provides emotional support to patients and guests while multi-tasking and continuously monitoring patient status. Must provide compassionate care to all patients and a high level of customer service
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred but not required. Alabama Registered Nurse license in good standing required, as well a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience. Candidates with previous nursing experience in oncology, specifically infusion therapy, preferred. Oncology Nurse Certification will be required. BLS and ACLS required.
